1st Refresher Course on Paleontology BACKGROUND INFORMATION
GSI has pioneered in the Paleontological studies and their application in stratigraphic studies and mineral exploration. Information on most of the vertebrate and invertebrate fossils of the Indian subcontinent is incorporated in several publications of the Palaeontologia Indica. Methods of fossil identification and their systematic description need considerable expertise. Most of the experts are either retired or on the verge of retirement. This course is proposed in order to train the young geologists in the art and artifice of paleontology.
